Little Hands Playschool is a play based child development program

Children at Little Hands are free to play and work at their own pace. Although we have a rhythm to our day, children are not rushed from one activity to the next. There are times to play, work, eat, meet with the group, and sleep/rest. We offer a rich combination of indoor and outdoor activities. Structure comes from the predictable flow of daily activities which is as follows:

Breakfast

Free choice/ Preschool

Circle Time with Reading, Singing and Academic Concepts
Morning Snack
Playing outside in the large play yard (if weather permits)
Lunch

Free choice or Playing Outside

Sensory Exploration

An assortment of sensory materials are available daily.

Play-Dough, Sand, Water, Cornstarch and Water and more.

Pre-Literacy

We know the importance of early literacy.Time is spent each day

reading and doing simple rhymes and finger-plays. The children

are enveloped in a print rich environment which helps them learn to read and write.

Social and Emotional Development

Children develop social abilities, contribute to their readiness for

school, and enable them to solve problems without resorting to

aggression or retreating into avoidance.
